One of the very first Minnesota imprints. 1849 was the first year of printing in the new territory. Other than newspapers and broadsides, only 10 pamphlets were produced, none of them bearing dates any earlier than 1 September 1849. This speech was delivered on 4 September. Only two other 1849 Minnesota imprints have appeared at auction since 1980.
